Please note that inactive accounts are deleted at regular intervals. If you create a new account, you must log onto Battle.net often enough (either in one session or over several sessions) to accumulate two (2) hours of logged time within the first 48 hours. After that, your account becomes permanent, so long as you log onto this account at least once every three (3) months.
It is possible that the server you are connecting to has split from the network, and if your account is new, it may not have received your new account information.
